I always thought their relationship was somewhat cute, yet sad, especially since he actually left her to go to the darkside with Aizen. Dumb boy. D:< LOL, but, nevertheless, he's still a super awesome and funny character to me. Even though, they never really talked about Ichimaru's and Matsumoto's relationship, the very few scenes they showed of them together, really made me connect with them. Zomg, especially at the ending of the Soul Society arc, when Ichimaru said bye to her after she held him hostage for a while, while Aizen was going crazy psycho on everyone's butt.

I took this from one of the intro's in the earlier seasons. It was pretty crazy pausing and unpausing to try and capture that essence they portrayed within just those few seconds of showing it.
